The shrimp are marinated for a little while. Thread them through wooden skewers and grill for just a few minutes on each side. That’s it. Tasty and simple. They are delicious cold too, next day on a salad.

What you’ll need

  • 1 lb of cleaned, shelled and deveined shrimp
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or extra virgin oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
  • ½ a lemon juiced
  • Splash of soy sauce
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper or red chili pepper flakes
  • 4 – 5 skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes

  1. Combine all ingredients into a medium bowl. Mix it up, coating all the shrimp. Cover with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for at least one hour.
  2. When you’re ready to cook, thread about 5 shrimp on each skewer. Make sure your grill is hot, clean and prepared for your shrimp. These cook fast…only about 3 minutes a side. They’re ready when they turn rosy pink. Serve with rice and your favorite vegetable or a side salad.
